Over the last few years, I switched to using more green cleaning products. Living a few blocks from the ocean really makes you think about the products you’re using. And even if you’re not near the ocean, being a little more environmentally friendly is a good thing. And if you’re busy like me and putting off cleaning your bathroom, let me help you answer the question, does Method Bathroom Cleaner work?
If you’re going to clean greener, you need products that actually work. You need quick and easy to use cleaning products that actually get the job done.
Has your cleaning procrastination resulted in an embarrassing film of soap scum and hard water deposits?
Mine did, so I decided to spray the two Method Bathroom cleaners side-by-side to test how well they would work. My goal was to clean the shower glass with as little extra effort as possible.
Method Antibacterial Bathroom Cleaner vs Method Foaming Bathroom Cleaner
For my test, I sprayed one part of the shower glass with Method Antibacterial Bathroom Cleaner (spearmint) and another area with Method Foaming Bathroom Cleaner (eucalyptus mint). After letting them sit for 5 minutes, I lightly scrubbed and rinsed the glass.

According to Method, the disinfectant formula kills 99.9% of household germs (including staphylococcus aureus, salmonella enterica, influenza A, and E. coli). They formulated the cleaner for soap scum and hard water stains. While you may prefer to avoid antibacterial cleaners, saving yourself from nasty illnesses is important. I also wanted to see what Method says about their antibac products and the coronavirus.
Method Foaming Bathroom Cleaner
Method formulated their Foaming Bathroom Cleaner for mold, mildew, soap scum, and grime. You can cover more surface area with the bottle’s spray nozzle.
So does Method Bathroom Cleaner work?
My test focused on the nasty soap scum and water deposits on my shower’s glass walls. I’ll have to try the mold another day because a bad shower design created a persistent problem no cleaner can fix. For the general shower grime, does Method Bathroom Cleaner work? Is it worth the effort?
Both cleaners were easy to spray and the foaming spray did cover the glass a little better. They both passed the easy to use test.
Both cleaners worked well on the grime. If your shower has an embarrassing level of grime, consider starting with the Method Foaming Bathroom Cleaner. For the grime, it worked better than the antibacterial bathroom cleaner. The foaming cleaner did a great job cutting through the mess.
